Some More Strong Racing 10k, short duathlon

It was another good weekend of racing for several Migonis Multisport athletes.  On Saturday Joan Kane ran one of her favorite races on the calendar, the Fort to Fort 10k in Rome, NY.  Joan scored another age-group podium with a 3rd place finish in the 50-59 age-group.  She finished in a time of 55:38.  Weather and a sore hip played a factor in the race for Joan today, but she powered through like she usually does for a solid finish.  Great job Joan!

On Sunday Randy Hadzor and Matt Toporowski took on a very deep field at the March Madness Duathlon in Central Park in NYC.  Randy lead the way and was the only athlete to finish the 2.2 mile run, 12 mile bike, 2.2 mile run in under 60 minutes when he crossed the line in a time of 59:24.  Randy is a short course duathlon superstar so a top finish today was not unexpected.  Matt also had a great race, winning his age-group and finishing 4th overall in a time of 1:00:53.  Just 9 seconds out of 3rd place and less than 40 seconds behind 2nd place overall.  Matt is training for 70.3 Chattanooga in May, so for him to be up near the front on this short race is awesome.  He looks to be well on his way to a good day in May.  Great job Randy and Matt and congrats on overall and age-group wins!
