Growing up, I ran cross country and track in high school and college.  I then went on to join the Army in 97’.  After my enlistment, I started working very long hours in the car business.  In 2010 one of my salespeople was running in the Boilermaker and asked if I wanted to tag along.  I had not been running since the Army but figured I would give it a shot.  After that race I realized how much I had missed running and slowly worked my way back into running shape over the next couple of years.

Coming from a running background I found the sport of Triathlon to be very intriguing and a way to supplement training.  In 2013 I tackled the Green Lakes Triathlon on a whim.  I remember thinking what had I gotten myself into as I floated on my back during the swim.  But with all that self-doubt came an addiction of wanting more and to further better myself as I crossed the finish line.

A year later, I realized that I needed some guidance as the sport of Triathlon can get very complex and I had already signed up to race IMLP.  I joined with Migonis Multisport in the fall of 2014.  What I found was a great group of athletes who all share a common passion for the sport and work hard at achieving their goals.  Matt is a great coach and friend who understands the balance an athlete needs with family work and training.  I really enjoy the journey and the lessons learned along the way.

I certainly had my share of injuries last year which has only fueled me to get stronger and faster.  I feel I have the mental toughness to get through anything that is thrown my way.  It’s always me against myself and that’s what I enjoy the most.  Triathlon is not easy.  If it were, then everyone would do it.  I hope to one day inspire someone to sign up for their first race and get hooked on the sport like I have.

I currently live in Brewerton, NY with my wife and our 2 boys.

My goals are always simple; be better than last year and set a good example for my kids.
