Several Migonis Multisport athletes kept the busy spring racing season going the past two weekends with 10k and 15k road races in New York and Minnesota. On April 9th Chris Ogden raced in his first road race of the season at the Skunk Cabbage 10k in Ithaca, NY. It was one of the better day’s weather wise in the past month, so it was a great opportunity for Chris to get his season rolling. Chris crossed the line in 50:53, which was a very solid 8:10 pace and also a very impressive result seeing how it was only his second week back running after more than a month off with a foot injury. Well done Chris.
On April 15th the lone Migonis Multisport athlete in the state of Minnesota, Phil Sconzert, competed in the Hot Chocolate 15k in Minneapolis, MN. Phil ran a very impressive PR crossing the line in 1:13:05 which was good enough for 98th overall out of nearly 2,000 athletes and 8th in the very fast 25-29 age-group. Excellent job Phil!
Also on April 15th, team members Randy Hadzor, Ryan Elliott, Alison Migonis, Kristin Mullally, Emily Zipprich, Lauren Polak and Kellie Nasiff competed at the InStride Sports Springtime 10k event in Jamesville, NY. Athletes battled windy conditions and a tough course, but still had some very solid performances. Oh, and they all had fun too! Randy led the way with a second overall placing in a time of 37:52. Ryan was the next to cross the line from the Migonis Multisport team breaking the tape in 44:15, which was good enough for 21st overall and 5th in his age-group. Alison was next finishing in 44:20. Her time was good enough for 4th overall female and 1st in her age-group. Kristin Mullally came across the line next for MM finishing in 47:48 and taking home 3rd in her age-group. Emily Zipprich came across the line in 48:37 for 4th place in her division. Lauren Polak broke the tape a short time later in 52:31 good enough for 7th in her age-group. Kellie, who has been dealing with various injuries all winter showed her toughness by running hard through some very annoying leg discomfort to finish in 1:00:38. Great job everyone. This was a great day for Migonis Multisport and yet another fantastic event for InStride Sports, which organizes and puts on the best family running events in central New York. Mark your calendars for May 20th which is when InStride has their next great family race, the Third Annual CNY Orchard Run hosted by Beak and Skiff. Migonis Multisport will see you there!!!!
