Dana Cooreman, Joan Kane and the newest member of the Migonis Multisport team, Elyssa Rosenbaum, all competed this past weekend in various races.

Dana accomplished the second half of one of the most difficult feats an athlete can attempt when she completed her second Ironman in 9 weeks at Ironman Chattanooga.  However, unlike Ironman Lake Placid where Dana was racing for a time and to avenge her shortened race in 2014, she was racing in Chattanooga for a much different reason.  Dana raced the 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run in honor of her late sister Stacy. Two years ago Stacy volunteered at the Chattanooga Ironman, and now Dana was competing there to fundraise for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.  Stacy suffered from Crohn’s and for Dana, racing meant bringing awareness of the disease and helping the foundation in their quest to find a cure for the illness that her sister lived with for over 10 years.  Time didn’t matter today as this race was about so much more.  Dana and her fellow competitors raced through brutally hot conditions where temps climbed into the mid 90’s.  Still Dana fought through and finished in a time of 13:47:23 which was good enough for 25th in her age-group. Well done Dana!!

Joan Kane put a cap on her great season with another podium finish in her age-group and a new personal best time at the Falling Leaves 14k in Utica, NY.  Joan has raced this course several times and after a great 2016 multisport season it was no surprise that she ran as well as she did in this race.  Joan’s time of 1:17:53 was good enough for the 57th women across the line.  Great job Joan and congratulations on an amazing season!

Elyssa Rosenbaum raced at the 3rd Annual Harvest Dash in Cazenovia, NY.  It was a trail race with some stiff competition.  Elyssa ran very well and broke the tape in 22:57 which was good enough for third place female overall and just a few seconds behind second place.  This was the first of many races that Elyssa will be running/competing in as part of Migonis Multisport in the coming years.  Nice job Elyssa!
