It was another amazing racing weekend for team Migonis Multisport.  The Delta Lake Triathlon, which is one of the most popular races on the cny summer race calendar, saw some fantastic performances by Nick Tucci, Travis Glazier and Joan Kane.

Nick participated in the sprint distance race and finished his first triathlon of the year in 25th place overall and 2nd in the highly competitive 30-34 age-group.  His overall time was 1:16:19.  Nick is racing Ironman Lake Placid next weekend and an injury has kept him from running for most of the summer.  Delta Lake was a test of the leg and a source of confidence heading into the big race next weekend.

Joan Kane raced the intermediate triathlon and used a great swim and excellent bike to propel her onto the top of the podium in the 55-59 age-group.  It’s Joan’s first age-group triathlon win of the summer.  Her overall time of 2:41:51 was good enough for 37th overall on a crazy humid day.  She will no doubt take a lot from this performance and use the knowledge going forward.

Travis Glazier decided to race both the sprint and intermediate triathlon as part of the Delta Double competition.  Travis had a great sprint race finishing 6th in the double competition and 1st in the 35-39 age-group in a time of 1:16:10.  He had about 15 minutes to get a drink and put his wetsuit back on before starting the second race.  He had another stellar performance in the intermediate race finishing in 8th place in the double competition and 1st in his 30-34 age-group.  His time of 2:42:37 was a testament to how far he’s come in less than a year.  He couldn’t even dream of finishing an intermediate distance triathlon last year and to do one 15 minutes after racing all-out in a sprint is just astounding.

Great job everyone!!!!!!!!!

Next week Nick, Emily Zipprich, Ryan Meek, Jamie Campbell and Matt Ryan will race in an Ironman event.  Everyone with the exception of Matt will be racing in Lake Placid, while Matt will be in Western Canada racing Ironman Canada on the same day.  Jamie and Nick have raced an Ironman before, but for everyone else, this is their first.  Good luck everyone!  It will be a day to remember for sure.
