Syracuse 1/2 this weekend


Several Migonis Multisport athletes are racing the Syracuse half-marathon this weekend in Syracuse, NY.  While the weather looks cold, again, it is sure to be a fun time. 

Early season half-marathons are a good chance to see where everyone’s fitness is after three and half long hard months of winter training.  Most people don’t do a lot of intensity during these months, but there is quite a bit of volume, especially on the bike.  I’ve always believed that you can gain a lot of overall endurance from logging the long bike miles.  Endurance that will come into play when running a half-marathon.  I learned very quickly that if you are training for an Ironman you need to spend the majority of your time on the bike.  That time works well with improving you run strength.  Not your speed, but your strength. 

The majority of the Migonis Multisport athletes racing this weekend are training for an Ironman event this summer.   Good luck everyone!
